Discover Japan by Ikebana Activity : Japanese Flower Arrangement

Ikebana, which is one of the traditional Japanese works, is a tool to express yourselves by beautiful materials. Ikebana is quite different from ‘Arrangement of flowers’ in western style and developed its original form only in Japan. In addition to beautiful floral materials, we use branches of a tree in order to create a unique shape and transform its nature to Art. Your experience of Ikebana in Japan will change your stay to a special one. Teacher will warmly treat you as if you were at your home. After lesson, some sweets will be served with Japanese green tea.

The location is 5-minute walk from Shin Ekoda station of Oedo Line (20 minutes from Shinjuku Station). That is in a a room of a residential area. The name of the class is Floral Space SOKYO.

Basically the experience will be held on everyday except for Thursday & Sunday.

Schedule

10:45	Meet at the Shin Ekoda Station of Toei Oedo Line and move to the studio.
11:00	Explanation by teacher about Ikebana.
11:15	She will demonstrate a basic style of Ikebana.
	A brief explanation how to arrange
11:30	You will then create an Ikebana arrangement by yourself.
12:00	Tea time with Japanese green tea and seasonal Japanese sweets.
12:30	Tour ends.

Remarks

1. Please never forget to bring the voucher which we send after the reservation and show this to the teacher.
2. This is a private business, class will be held at instructor's house. Late arrivals may result in non-admittance without refund.
3. After reservation is successfully made, you will have email from Agent to confirm the reservation and further information (specific location and more).
4. Teacher speaks English. Explanation will be made in English.
5. The following tools are provided in the classroom.
- Ikebana scissors, Kenzan (a needle-pin flower holder)
- Container (vase etc)
- Flower materials
6. After lesson, flowers are yours. But you don’t need them, no need to bring them with you.
