Traditional Indian Clothing Saree and Kurta Rental (Agra, World Heritage Taj Mahal)

Enjoy taking commemorative pictures in front of the most beautiful mausoleum in the world, the Taj Mahal, while wearing a traditional Indian dress called Saree (for men the pyjama-style Kurta).

Indians wear it both in daily life, as well as special events like weddings. Here it is possible to experience being wrapped in traditional Indian clothing, and to enjoy touring through Agra to places like the Taj Mahal. It is especially popular with women due to their multitude of colors and stylish way of swaying while walking. Participants can choose their favourite design out of 30 different colorful patterns.

Besides the normal Saree and Kurta there is also the option to rent a more glamorous princess-style Maharani Saree, or the king-style Maharaja Kurta. The Maharani Saree Rental Plan also includes accessories like necklaces or bracelets, the Maharaja Kurta Rental Plan includes hat and scarf; both being special discount offers.

Schedule

8:00-15:00 At the reserved time, please come to the rental shop “Kala Kendra” by yourself.
Pick your favourite Saree or Kurta, and get dressed.
Free time, enjoy walking around Agra and Taj Mahal while wearing traditional Indian clothing.
-19:00 Return to the shop by 7pm or earlier, and return the Saree/Kurta.

Remarks

1. Participation is possible from age 6 or older.
2. Participants are requested to choose their arrival time between 8am and 5pm, and to come to the shop accordingly. The rental clothes have to be returned before 7pm.
3. Due to the Taj Mahal being closed on Fridays, the rental shop will also not be open.
4. Participants will change into their Saree in gender-separated changing rooms. Female staff members will support the female participants.
5. The participants clothes and luggage can be stored at the rental shop. However, storage of valuables is not permitted.

To the Taj Mahal Western Gate is takes 5 minutes by car, or 15 minutes on foot. To the Eastern Gate it is 10 minutes by car, and 20 minutes on foot.
