An Edo Post Town

Ouchijuku is an Edo Period town that served as a post town along a trade route that connected Fukushima to Nikko. Travelers during this period would travel by foot, and Ouchijuku became a town where travelers would stop and rest. The town has been restored to look just as it did in the Edo Period. There are small shops, restaurants, and traditional inns lining the main street, and restaurants serve traditional foods like soba noodles and grilled fish. There is also a museum with Edo Period artifacts.
