Japan Golden Route, 8 Day Group Tour
March 28 - April 4, 2020
One of the most popular seasons to visit the country, spring in Japan is whimsical and picturesque. The country is sprinkled with delicate shades of pink and white from the colorful blooms that overtake the land.
This tour will take you on a classic route, visiting some of the most popular and famous landmarks in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Hiroshima. Also visit Hakone and relax in an onsen. You will also be able to enjoy a unique sushi-making experience, a new addition to the beloved tour!
TOKYO
Japan’s capital Tokyo is one of the largest and most populous city in the world. In this tour you will have a good balance of tours giving you in-depth insight on Tokyo’s iconic sites, whether it be its cuisine, history, architecture, art, or popular culture. You’ll stay in a grand hotel in one of the cities most central locations, offering nearly endless dining, cultural, and shopping opportunities.
HAKONE
Hakone is a gorgeous resort area located in Kanagawa Prefecture, close to Japan’s highest mountain. We will see views of the volcanic Owakudani Valley from a panoramic ropeway.
With beautiful nature and world-class art museums, Hakone is one of the must-visit places in Japan.
MIYAJIMA
Itsukushima Shrine on Miyajima, literally translated to “shrine island”, is perhaps the most famous shrine in Japan known for its floating torii gate. Long a holy place and a site for pilgrimage, the shrine complex is connected by boardwalks over the sea and is one of the most unique spots in Japan.
HIROSHIMA
Remnants of this city’s tragic history can be viewed at the Atomic Bomb Dome, the only building that was left standing after the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, as well as the Peace Memorial Park, a must-visit for anyone traveling in the area. No matter where you’re from, you are guaranteed to leave Hiroshima with a renewed understanding of the importance of peace.
OSAKA
Osaka is a place to let loose and enjoy, full of bright lights and some of Japan’s best casual dining. It offers a pleasant contrast to neighboring Kyoto, which is more traditional and quiet. Warm people, rich culture, and opportunity for growth and change define Osaka, and we’ll get a taste for the city towards the end of the tour.
KYOTO
Kyoto is the religious and cultural heart of Japan, and with thousands of temples, shrines, gardens, natural wonders, and cuisine, Kyoto exemplifies the pinnacle of Japanese aesthetics. Bustling, modern streetscapes are juxtaposed with serene temples and Zen gardens, and geisha hurry along for evening entertainment. You’ll get a taste of it all in our tour through the city’s highlights.
NARA
Nara was the capital of Japan from 710 to 794, and is home to some of the most ancient but grand surviving wooden structures in the world, whose scale would never suggest their great age. We’ll see one of Japan’s most iconic Buddha Statues at Todaiji Temple, and also see the seemingly endless series of beautiful lanterns at the Kasuga Taisha Shrine. We’ll also visit the deer that roam freely around the famous Nara Deer Park.
