About Okayama

Okayama Prefecture is located in the Chugoku region of Japan. The prefecture has fifteen total cities, and Okayama is the capital city.
Okayama has been nicknamed the "Land of Sunshine" due to its favorable weather conditions and mild climate. Because of its pleasant weather, Okayama grows some delicious fruits and has many fruit farms. One of their most famous produce is peaches. Fittingly, the popular folk tale Momotaro about a boy born from a peach comes from Okayama. Therefore, there might be some references to Momotaro throughout Okayama.
