Winter Only! Vivid Colors & Sparkling Illuminations (1/3)

Illuminations brightly light up winter towns. People all over Japan enjoy these festivals of light, down to the lighting that makes the most of the surrounding buildings and natural features, and events shows that use the latest technology.

First Showing! A Magical Twinkling Blue Light in
"Nakameguro's Blue Grotto" (Tokyo)

This is the first time that these illuminations based on the theme "the blue grotto" have been displayed alongside the Meguro River in the sophisticated Naka Meguro which is known for attracting people with it's trendy restaurants and cafes.These twinkling blue lights are reflected beautifully in the river and stretch out for 500 meters, bathing parts of the city in a whimsical blue light. The Meguro River is usually famous for it's pink cherry blossoms but expect a new   winter tradition to be born as "the blue grotto" begins to illuminate the city from this winter.

Enjoy fine dining in the riverside restaurants while gazing at the beautiful illuminations.

The Christmas lighting and surrounding 1 km of illuminations are a seasonal highlight of Toyko Sky Tree Town. "Dream Christmas" appears to be centered around the concept of "making wishes come true in the midst of beautiful lights", and by combining projection mapping and music, scenes of cute kids making cakes are projected out.

Using the concept "Midtown Craze", these illumunations are displayed all across the town to give you the impression that you're leaving Earth and venturing out into the galaxy. This dynamic production full of uplifting feelings and beautiful lights that spread out as far as the eye can see is a must-see!

Birth of Nature & Light: The Largest Light Festival in the Sanyo Area "Tottori Sand Dune Illusion XII" (Tottori) 

Tottori Sand Dune Illusion

Designed with the concepts of "a light and nature-filled dream world" and "theme park of light", this is "Tottori Sand Dune Illusion XII". The road that leads from the main event location of the Tottori Sand Dune car park to the dunes themselves twinkles with light, as if lines by thousands of star fragments. There's also a show full of moving lights and music in the Kodomo no Kuni car park to be enjoyed as well.
